List of hydrodynamic force amplification factors, for submerged free spans of pipeline (Output Table)
The output data table AMPLFAC provides an overview list of dynamic weight, natural frequencies of vibration and dynamic amplification factors for free spans found.
The dynamic weight includes the weight of the pipe in air, the pipe contents and the added weight derived from the added mass specified in table DYNAMPL. The dynamic weight is converted to mass density by division by the acceleration of gravity and used in the calculation of natural frequency of vibration of the span.
The dynamic amplification factor (DAF) is a function of the ratio of wave frequency and natural frequency of the span. If this ratio is 1, the DAF has a maximum value only limited by the structural (and fluid) damping.
